O'Connor Wins A4 Killinchy GP
Danny O'Connor continued the impressive run of club members before him winning an A4 race to get upgraded automatically today at the Killinchy GP. He beat a sold out event of competitors by holding them off after attacking within the final 500 metres and having time to raise one arm before the line. He is only into his second season of racing and follows his teammates now into the A3 ranks where his current fine form should see him continue to mix it up in the longer and tougher events.
Danny was quietly confident of todays win, which is the clubs first of the year, telling a few close friends of his intentions to win. The club hopes that this is only the first of many with a lot of members still to start racing when they return from Majorca, meanwhile Danny said he was going to celebrate with a Chinese and beer after he was congratulated by the club who turned out in force to watch the race. Garrett Fitzgerald was the only other member competing today in a tough A1/A2 race which never seen the two groups come together with the winner John Buller coming from Fitzy's group. Racing continues with Carn wheelers classic tomorrow.
