Lee Harvey Ras Diary 2022

Stage 5 Kinnegad -Blackrock 19th June (Final Stage)

Last day was brutal the fatigue of the week hit me like a bus today. I hadn’t a leg early in the stage then a puncture and a chase while the bunch was flat out had me running on empty. By the time we got to the circuit I was on my hands and knees but I used the corners as best I could to move up the bunch to give myself slippage room when the inevitable line outs came.

The atmosphere in blackrock was electric the first pass down the finish straight made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Unfortunately on the last lap I just ran out of legs and got tailed off the back of the bunch and just enjoyed the atmosphere for the rest of the lap. I’m really proud of what I achieved this week and it was nice to see some friendly faces from the club at the finish. I’m definitely happy to get it finished and officially become a man of the ràs and I look forward to having another go at it as soon as possible.

"Thanks Lee for all the updates been a pleasure updating the webpage every night and having a good reason close to my heart to finally post updates on a Glendale man riding the Ras again, maybe next year we could have a full team in it lead by yourself"
